About
Rock Steady Boxing gives people with Parkinson’s disease hope by improving their quality of life through a non-contact boxing based fitness curriculum.
Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative movement disorder which can cause deterioration of motor skills, balance, speech and sensory function. In some cases, mood disturbances can cause a person with Parkinson’s to become increasingly withdrawn with depression and anxiety.
Rock Steady Boxers are encouraged by coaches through a boxing regimen which awakens the body and mind. Training is modified for each individual. Boxing requires coordination, endurance and a personal commitment. Boxers must show up and suit up on a regular basis in order to see results. Within a few weeks, most boxers have increased their fitness, gained new confidence, and decreased their stress. And they look forward to having fun in a safe environment.
Call today to schedule an appointment to visit the gym, speak privately with a trainer, or watch a class in action. There is no obligation to become a Rock Steady Boxer. Please always consult your physician before starting any exercise program.
